sewing
I started my Neapolitan Bonaparte* costume last week and am very happy that I'm finishing it up today. I know, I usually groan at puns, but I hold a special place in my heart for Neapolitan ice cream, as well as the man whose complex I share.
If I can keep churning out costumes this fast, I'll be set. Next will be Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Xmas, but a pirate version of them. I'm going to go get fabric and supplies today. There's a huge Disney good guys pirate group happening at Dragon*Con, and it should be really kick-ass and fun.

Besides, what other paired costume is height and size appropriate for me and Ian?

I'm making a flapper costume, but that won't be hard. I might get overly fancy with it if I get the time, but I still have a lot of stuff left to do, and I'll be out of town for three weeks, plus I get post trip depression, so I probably won't hit the ground running as I should.

I love Dragon*Con season *happy sigh*
Oh, and I know I totally claimed I wouldn't be making Ian and costumes this year, but it's pretty much the only way to make him dress up. Also, I can make him do all the stuff I don't want to, like cutting fabric and sewing on buttons.

I totally wish I had the money to get one of your costumes.

Paired? Is there a theme or something in particular?

If you're going for height it'd be something a long the lines of like Alice and Hatter like Han Solo and Princess Leia

Try not to wear all those costumes at once.

I love the pun! And I can't wait to see the outfit. I also love Dragon-Con season (also *happy sigh*).... And it's awesome for me, since my lovely Magpie makes most of my outfits for me! (Yes, I'm totally spoiled!)

On another note, we'll be arriving early in ATL this year. We get in on the 1st. Can we meet up early, or will you be sewing like a mad... sewer?

Let me know!!

Yeah, I am always done before con. I don't tend to do the last minute shuffle because that's what I have to help the Outlanders with. I would be up for hanging out. I've still got your numbers, I can send you a text a few days before so you've got mine.

And yes, you are lucky.

Neapolitan Bonaparte is going to look awesome, I have no doubt.

You and I both know what it's like to commission for friends and loved ones, but by all means you better make him paint the jagged white pinstripes on his suit besides cutting and button attaching.

D*Con is probably what I'm looking forward to more than anything this year :)

Oh, and I still think Ian should be stretched out Mike TeeVee at the end of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ... and you can be Violet >D

Yeah, but I'm painting on guidelines for him to stripe between. Knowing Ian, he'd make ruler straight lines down the whole thing :P

Yes, it's what I measure the year by. Now you will, too!

Sally and Jack, perfect for you two!

Neopolitan Bonaparte, for the pun alone, it is already brilliant.

T'is! I hope you'll get to see it in person some time, but at least you'll get to see it in pictures after Labor Day.

And I wish I had tomorrow off, I would totally start on Jack and Sally.

Hey Miss Sasha. What all costumes are you taking to DragonCon this year?
[info]stupid_drawings wrote:

Lots of them. So far I've planned fairy, flapper, Neapolitan, Sally pirate, and some sort of yule ball dealy. Probably steampunk as well. You?

Unsure.. it sort of depends on if we get the money to cover airline tickets =/

Mister J and I have a super seekrit something in mind. Johnny is sort of burnt out on Steampunk, so we'll see what else (if time/space/money permits).
