Ok, tomorrow in the AM I am leaving for the Chicago. I will try to jump in maybe once or twice to tell people I'm still alive and making people laugh, but mostly I will be gone off the face of the internet. Scary indeed.

I urge you guys to just comment with links to any lj posts or news you think I should see, as my catching up will be a long process which will involve skipping large amounts of journals I usually read.

I'ma go rock Chicago and San Fran. Well, first I need to finish sewing on a patch to my nondescript black suitcase, then spend some time with Mr.Ian, then sleep a few hours before my flight and pre-flight bout of checking to see if I left anything unpacked that I really need.

I love yous guys! See some of you in two weeks!

I've been so productive since Mr.Ian's moved in. He mostly seems to play video games, I've noticed. Most video games make little noises and sound effects, and I believe they are tuned perfectly to some sort of tone that triggers a reaction in my brain causing me to work my butt off even if I'm tired after work. This is a handy note to have around because it makes me do what I need to do.

I was thinking of doing laundry today and as soon as Mr. Ian started playing his game, I went and collected my filthy garments for cleansing. I made him help me carry them to the laundry room, which was actually just an excuse to not have to walk past the pool alone, as it is human stew filled with a writhing mass of bodies closely packed together, and sometimes people in the stew will try to talk to me. Well, they sort of demand to talk to me, but I don't think they have much to say so much as they want to attempt to seduce me. Give it up, stew guys, give it up.

So, off I go to transfer wet clothes into a dryer.

I was a fairy today.

No really, I was a fairy for a few hours today. Friends were participating in a 48 hour film festival her in Atlanta. They were given a genre, a character an object, a job, and a line. Everyone got the same everything except for genre. I'm not going to spoil the film, though, so I'll just leave it at this. I'll post a link when it gets onto youtubs, so you can all laugh and leave stupid youtube comments about weird facial expressions at so and so seconds in. I am going to see some of the films on Tuesday night. Ian was ok with skipping the screening because he'd get to see it at work, but as that doesn't help me much, I opted to buy his ticket for him as well as mine.

I enjoy being a fairy because it's really funny if a fairy accidentally curses or says "penis". Makes me snicker, at least.

Oh hey, what's up, my trip is next week! I have been a slacker as far as planning costumes for Azkatraz. Boo me, I am lazy. Actually, I've just been working on Dragon con costumes. I'm cutting the fabric for Jack and have started decorating fabric for Sally. I need to send Christie a message about that, actually. I'm commissioning a bodice from her because she makes the awesome and I don't really have time or patience to make a bodice right now. I just need to make sure our stylization matches up.

Random tick list!

The Napoleon hat makes me happy, even though Mr.Ian refuses to even hug me while I'm wearing it.

I don't like thankless people. No need for a big show, just an acknowledgment is nice.

I hate when thankless individuals expect a big show from me instead of just a heartfelt thank you.

Yes, I am thinking of one person in particular. No, I'm not going to tell you whom.

Yes, some people do still say whom and afar and vestibule.

Be forewarned, I can be a harsh loan shark.

ffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I'm going to try to go to Jareth's Labyrinth Ball next year

I want people to send me some sort of mail while I'm out of town

I love fake eyelashes, they're so much fun!

I'm going to dress up every day of my trip if I can help it. I'll look someone facially spiffy while wearing comfy clothes in class, but have a cool change of clothes for out-on-the-town-ing

We made a Jewdapede (which is a Jewish centipede ) in improv this past week. It's a truly majestic creature. I cannot wait for my trip! Second City will be awesome, as will Azkatraz, and I get to bum around Chicago and San Fran! Woot!

Now, lets play a game! Choose a character (any character) and find the worst possible costume of it. Post a shot of the character and of the horrible costume in the comments!

I started my Neapolitan Bonaparte* costume last week and am very happy that I'm finishing it up today. I know, I usually groan at puns, but I hold a special place in my heart for Neapolitan ice cream, as well as the man whose complex I share.
If I can keep churning out costumes this fast, I'll be set. Next will be Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Xmas, but a pirate version of them. I'm going to go get fabric and supplies today. There's a huge Disney good guys pirate group happening at Dragon*Con, and it should be really kick-ass and fun.

Besides, what other paired costume is height and size appropriate for me and Ian?

I'm making a flapper costume, but that won't be hard. I might get overly fancy with it if I get the time, but I still have a lot of stuff left to do, and I'll be out of town for three weeks, plus I get post trip depression, so I probably won't hit the ground running as I should.

I love Dragon*Con season *happy sigh*
Oh, and I know I totally claimed I wouldn't be making Ian and costumes this year, but it's pretty much the only way to make him dress up. Also, I can make him do all the stuff I don't want to, like cutting fabric and sewing on buttons.

I'm finally liking work. After all this time, it's nice to finally not have it be a royal pain in my middle back*. My boss invented a whole new position in the store just for me. I am basically a receptionist and do not have to do any of the work that I hated before. This is awesome. I get the same pay and less duties, and the ability to sit down, doodle**, and help people on a one on one basis.

Other cool stuff:

not needed for jury duty tomorrow

have been working on commissions (Pokeystar's is coming along nicely!)

costume plans are solidifying

trip in a few weeks!

*I say middle back because that's where everyone else's butt seems to come up to when standing back to back with me.

** doodles will be scanned soon.

Things I've recently discovered I love:

1. Couscous. It is so fucking easy to make, and the flavored mixes that you can get in boxes at the grocery store are awesome. Mmm, five minute meal.

2. The "beaches" theme on Gmail. It looked unimpressive at first, and I didn't like that the star for marking emails is a starfish that doesn't really stand out all that much. But after using it, I was won over by the colors changing in accordance with the time of day. The little sunrises and sunsets make me happy. It also changes the entire color theme to match the background.

3. Airports. I realized I love airports. So many interesting people, so many possible places to go! It feels like you have endless possibilities at an airport, you just have to be brave enough, foolish enough, or rich enough.

I might have to do a hate post soon, but it will lack explanation because my hate has no reason.

An update!

Firstly, I would like to thank and hug every last one of you that sent me condolences. It was very much appreciated and every last one of them made me feel better.

Secondly, funeral update.
So, I get to the airport right after faire. We fly to NY with my mom being unbelievably bitchy at me the entire way. And this time I know it was not just me, I had multiple other passengers of the flight give me a look when she'd be a bitch. Yay other passengers. We get to NY, get picked up by Adam, who is the son of my grandma's sister. We spent the night over in the middle of nowhere Long Island. In the morning, my mom gets up around 6am and just starts quietly* pacing. I ask her to please stop so I am awake for the funeral. Sleep a little more, then give up because everyone else is up. I am given a bagel for breakfast and listen to Uncle Dave** tell stories for a while until it's time to go. Penny, Adam's sister, shows up to drive us and we all head down.
highlights for the next part:

busy graveyard

Penny wanted to kill my mom, too

disorderly staff and late gravedigger guys

they almost drop the casket and my Uncle Perry was about to kill them

some ass hats walking by the funeral talking loudly. Perry told them to shut the fuck up and have some fucking respect.

big fat sleezy lawyer was at the funeral, all he was missing were money symbol shaped pupils

afterwards, bagels and lox for lunch and for dinner, and was sent home with them

got a Nathan's hotdog in the airport and still don't like them, but it was not a bagel

I miss NY

I now own a lot of rather large and gaudy clip on earrings

I love old Jewish New Yorkers, and it's one of the things we don't really have in Atlanta that I do feel the absence. It was nice to be back with my family, but hopefully next time the circumstances will be improved.

*extremely loudly, because when slowly shifting your weight on old wooden floors, it makes even more noise than if you just walked across quickly.
**We call him uncle, but I suppose he's my grandfather-in-law or something.

If this roommate does not start visibly moving out by Friday, I'm going to let her know that the locks are being changed on the 1st of June. Seeing as I believe she's made a copy of the key for the guys she's dated in these three or so months, plus other post roommates, I think it is time for a change of locks.

In other news, I am most unfortunately sick today. Horrible stomach pains. And on top of that, I've lost my voice. Boo. Being sick makes me exhausted, I feel like it's 5am.

Anyways, enough complaining. It's time for a pic spam! And smiling. I bought him along with a torso and a head for $5 from an artist. Ian and I put him in the back window of the car, which is perfect for looking into. Also, the baby rolls around a little when the car starts or stops, so the slight movements draw people's eyes even more. I named him Baby Diver.

Ian is so sweet.

Until he figures out he's being Batman'd.

I discovered he doesn't like being Maul'd either!

Hopefully I'll update about actual life stuff tomorrow, but for right now I'm tired and covered in hair clippings from Misty. But at least her hair looks good. I'm going to try something different next time I cut it.
Stupid roommates. It's like pulling teeth to get rent, and they're bitchy to me even though I'm overlooking the quite obvious fact that her boyfriend is LIVING HERE.
Yesterday I walk out of my room to discover that my kitchen floor is covered in soda. So I send Siha a text asking her to clean up the mess. I get a bitchy text back about how I shouldn't assume it was her. Well, she's the only one that's supposed to be living here, so I don't think it's such a horrible assumption. I told her to have the guy clean it, then.
I get home and the guy says "I cleaned your floor" as if I should be thanking him. He apparently used most of my liquid dish soap to "clean" the floor. It was unbelievably sticky.
I gave in and cleaned it with floor cleaner this morning. If he messes it up again, he's getting told off. I should probably try to get him to clean my toaster oven that is currently swimming in chicken grease.
Oh, and on the rent check she made sure to write "FINAL" in all caps. No shit, Sherlock. I fear what she's done to the room since she keeps the door shut all the time.

I can't wait to have Ian as a roommate. I had no idea how stupid people are until I started living with them.

I have pretty much officially decided to go to Azkatraz. Fuck yeah!

I am going to be even more poor this year than I was last year. But these past few years have been the best of my life. Phoenix Rising, Portus, Terminus, Dragon Con, Texasgiving, Tybee; all of it has been amazing and I don't regret a single one of them. The fun I've had was worth the money spent. And that's part of the reason I'm going to Azkatraz even though it's probably not a good financial desicion. I never regret spending money if I have a blast.

Speaking of money, I had the filthiest tip this past weekend. While working at the Pirate Ship I am dressed somewhat skimpily most of the time.
This guy is looking at my corset and asks if I can breath while wearing it.
I tell him it's not tight, since it's an older one that's too big for me now.
He doesn't believe me, so I prove it by sticking my arm down the side of my corset.
He tosses the wad of moneyhe's holding on the counter, says "That's worth a tip!", and slips his hand down the side of my corset quickly, then leaves.
...
...
...
...WTFOMGBBQTURTLEPOWER?!?!
Seriously? I was just sort of shocked still, then I counted the money he'd thrown down. $27. Not bad for completely random violation of space. Besides, unless he likes sweaty side, he didn't get much out of it.

Spent some filty tip money on dinner.

Yay, my H2 check came! Not only do I get to be (hopefully) visible in a movie, I get money for it as well. This will go into the fun stuff fund. I still don't think I'll be able to swing going to Azkatraz, but who knows, maybe some other money will fall into my lap. Besides, me and Mr. Ian are committed to going to Disney for Halloween this year. It will be amazing.

Well, I hope Jeanne has fun at her first LARP this weekend! I'm out until Sunday night. Ttyl, internets.

A better post will come soon.

Oh, what's up?

So, I am officially working at the Pirate Ship at GA Ren Fest. It is pretty much awesome getting to work with Foe and Christine and Bill. I'm stuck over in the $10 shop, but it suits me just fine. It's fun trying to get people into the shop and trying to make them buy things. Despite my hatred of my weekday store, I really do like selling. And I get to be a pirate.

Other cool stuff is starting to happen, but I'm not going to jinx them until they happen for reals. The s makes it serious.

I'm being ignored right now by Mr. Ian, but I'm trying not to let that bother me. I don't think he is consciously doing it on purpose.

In which I am weird

For Lex, who wanted photo proof that I can hold my own shoulder blades

It's just something I was casually doing one day and it freaked Ian out. I didn't realize it might be weird.

I was playing around and half-assed straightened my hair. As you can see, it did not get really straight.

The slight swoosh at the front was intentional.

See, not so straight.

Parenting.

Here was my outfit last Friday:

I want to be her.

Or them.

65 Questions You've Probably Never Been Asked...

1. First thing you wash in the shower?
Hair. I try to get clean from the top down.

2. What color is your favorite hoodie?
brown on brown striped hoodie

3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
Probably, since we're, you know, dating and all. It would be awkward if I didn't.

4. Do you plan outfits?
Only when it's for something I want to do. Screw work, let them look at my ratty clothes.

5. How are you feeling RIGHT now?
Nervous and frustrated.

6. Whats the closest thing to you that's red?
photo finish between a red flash drive full of comics and a tin of bacon gumballs.

7. Tell me about the last dream you remember having?
Me and Ian were trapped in a fire in this old building that used to be an elementary school in my dream world. We ended up in the greenhouse, which was filled with trash. We survived, but were worried we were the only ones.

8. Did you meet anybody new today?
No, because a tree fell near work, knocking out the power and I was told not to come in. Suck.

9. What are you craving right now?
Good news

10. Do you floss?
No, and I feel bad that I don't.

11. What comes to mind when I say cabbage?
Rancid.

12. Are you emotional?
Not usually, but if it's disappointment, it hits me really hard.

13. Have you ever counted to 1,000?
Yes, thanks to Office Jobs (TM)

14. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it?
Either. My teeth are not temp. sensitive.

15. Do you like your hair?
Yes and no. I love my hair, but there are also different types of hair that I think are beautiful and that I would love to have.

16. Do you like yourself?
Usually yes. Not when I fuck up.

17. Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush?
If he's paying, sure. If it's a date, no.

18. What are you listening to right now?
Some Tori Amos.

19. Are your parents strict?
My mo probably doesn't even know the definition of the word at this point... And dad's not the strictest of corpses.

20. Would you go sky diving?
No, I like both life and the ground.

21. Do you like cottage cheese?
I always seem to think so until I get it and am unimpressed.

22. Have you ever met a celebrity?
Yeah, but nobody that has impressed me.

23. Do you rent movies often?
You mean internets? Yes, I internets movies whenever I feel like watching one. Not often, lately...

24. Is there anything sparkly in the room you're in?
Yeah, the horns on my devil mask are sparkly.

25. How many countries have you visited?
Denmark, and I took a wrong turn in Northern Maine and ended up in Canada, but not past the official boarder check.

26. Have you made a prank phone call?
Yes, and none of the florists in GA sell Steel Magnolias.

27. Ever been on a train?
Yes, we took Amtrak to New Orleans and called it the Hogwarts Express. Also, I take Marta often.

28. Brown or white eggs?
Whatever. Scrambled.

29.Do you have a cell-phone?
Yes, but the only people that call me are my boyfriend and my uncle.

30. Do you use chap stick?
No, but I probably should since I peel my lip often.

31. Do you own a gun?
None that shoot people. I have steampunk and pirate guns. Flintlock would still hurt someone with the butt.

32. Can you use chop sticks?
Like a pro. Which is to say, a Sumo Wrestler.

33. Who are you going to be with tonight?
Mr. Ian, hopefully.

34. Are you too forgiving?
Actually, I tend to hold a grudge, then become indifferent. So, I suppose if indifference is forgiveness, then still no.

35. Ever been in love?
Grudgingly. I resist, but I have loved a few people.

36. What is your best friend(s) doing tomorrow?
I suppose all my friends are at work...

37. Ever have cream puffs?
Yes, good if you're in the mood for sweets.

38. Last time you cried?
A few days ago.

39. What was the last question you asked?
I think I asked Ian to tuck me into bed last night.

40. Favorite time of the year?
Fall or winter. I love the cold.

41. Do you have any tattoos?
Not really. I have an accidental ink dot on my hand, but no tattoo

42. Are you sarcastic?
Who, me? NEVER!

43. Have you ever seen The Butterfly Effect?
No, it looked crappy to me.

44. Ever walked into a wall?
Yes, and the wall deserved what it got. My face.

45. Favorite color?
I think aqua right now. It was blue, then brown, then black, then gray, then brown again.

46. Have you ever slapped someone?
With books! His name was Adrian and he deserved the beating he got.

47. Is your hair curly?
I should hope so, or else there is something horribly wrong going on.

48. What was the last CD you bought?
Do you mean Internets? Because I think you do.

49. Do looks matter?
Yes, that's why costumes exist. The way someone looks or dresses tells you about that person. That's why people wear uniforms for certain jobs.should looks matter? depends on the situation.

50. Could you ever forgive a cheater?
I have a zero tolerance policy. If you want someone else, be with someone else. If you want me, be with me and me alone.

51. Is your phone bill sky high?
No, I don't think the sky is that low... I pay a bill, but then who am I to expect service for free?

52. Do you like your life right now?
In general, yes.

53. Do you sleep with the TV on?
TV? Do you mean internets again? No, I turn the internets off before I sleep.

54. Can you handle the truth?
It depends on what truth it is. In general, I can handle hearing it, but am not so good at telling it.

55. Do you have good vision?
Last eye test, I saw farther than 20/20

56. Do you hate or dislike more than 3 people?
Hate, no. I hate 2 people. Dislike, probably. I dislike people who make me feel uncomfortable or worthless.

57. How often do you talk on the phone?
Not much nowadays, people don't call me for stuff much. I think I've become one of those anti-social in a relationship people I poke fun at.

58. The last person you held hands with?
Mr. Ian!

59. What are you wearing?
T shirt with crowns and wings on it, jeans with a small hole on the right knee, almost matched socks, green undies and a polkadot bra.

60.What is your favorite animal?
cat, probably

61. Where was your default picture taken at?
Um...... Porkchop sandwiches!

62. Can you hula hoop?
For a minute.

63. Do you have a job?
Yes, but I could always use more.

64. What was the most recent thing you bought?
A coffee on Saturday while hanging out in the library

65. Have you ever crawled through a window?
Yeah, it was easier than going around to the front of the house at my mom's.
She bought me a shake, and I'm probably going to die of Made In China Toy Lead Paint Poisoning! Revenge will be had!

They had little cardboard build-it cars at the Steak 'n Shake, so I customized mine. That's two lesbians wrapped in a snake with some roses in the background. Hey, Kaitee, do you remember that car from Buford Hwy? It was green, though, and had bullet holes.

Then Lucas had to go an up-stage the Muffstang by cutting all the bumper stickers up to make his cooler.

On Thursday, Kimba and Misty came over and we all had a game night. Kimba brought some cookie dough, which is now currency between us. Misty made tumbleweeds. Mmm, tumbleweeds.
The next day, me and Ian decided to make cookie. it started off as multiple cokies, but then this was the result.
 It was pretty good, though.

Here's the makeup I got into last night around this time:

This morning I discovered my hair had made a ramshorn!
Weird, my hair never curls in this pattern.

Go buy my wings on ebay! Or at least buy my Moby Dick painting for $30. I will take commissions again after I finish the two I'm slacking on now.

Multiple things!

It pains me that I can't go to Jareth's Labyrinth Ball since this year's theme is "clockwork"! Anyone want to pay for my flight and hotel? I'd buy my own ticket to the ball if you get the rest.

It is my goal tomorrow to put up at least one pair of wings for sale. I will, of course, spam you all with links.

I can sing pretty much anything to the tune of "Moon River"

I wanted to paint today, so I painted Moby Dick. It is behind the cut.

It's acrylic on watercolor, about 9x10 inches. If anyone wants it, I'll sell it to you for $30.

Ok, it's time to play Help Sasha Remember!

What was I going to do on April 10th or the weekend of? All I can remember was that I was going to be double-booked.
